For Schools and Libraries
- Jeffry is in the process of recording a number of book reading events from his works that will soon be found on the publisher’s YouTube channel. You are welcome to invite Jeffry Glover virtually to your school or library for a “Virtual Book Reading Visit!” Simply subscribe to his channel and click on the event or video you would like to view in the library or the classroom as they become available, or request a recording specifically for your event! Additional Events and videos are in the works to be added in the future.
- Jeffry’s poems are written to be read aloud and shared. His rhyming tales often incorporate plays on words, alliteration, and witty turns of phrase. Some of the stories have humorous twists or surprise endings. To encourage budding authors to develop and practice their writing skills, after reading some of Jeffry Glover’s poems in class, students can try their hand at creating rhyming stories, including ones that include puns, alliteration, surprise endings, or humorous twists, writing either individually or together in small groups.
- April is Poetry Month! Read aloud some of Jeffry’s poems in class and display rhyming books in the School Library during April. Encourage students to try their hand at writing poems in various forms, like a Haiku, Limerick, or Sonnet. Incorporating Jeffry’s highly engaging poems can serve as an engaging resource in the middle school and high school Language Arts classroom.
- The rhyming tales in Jeffry Glover’s books can be incorporated in lesson plans in myriad ways throughout the school year to foster enjoyment of reading aloud and appreciation of language. In addition, his forthcoming book Poetry Pie: Delicious Poems on Writing is geared towards writers and students of writing to encourage finding and expressing one’s voice on the page. Anticipated Volume One release date is Fall 2026.
- More books and videos to follow. Jeffry’s express intention is to support language education, promote libraries, and to encourage the reading, writing, sharing, and sheer enjoyment of poetry in the classroom and in everyday life.
